It is time now for a Fair and Free Elections Amendment to the Constitution. I have proposed it in my forthcoming book, Call to Liberty. Here is the text of our proposed amendment:
A well regulated election, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to an audited, voter-verified, certified paper record of the vote, shall not be infringed.
Regulatory standards through the FEC (Federal Election Commission) won’t work. Neither will national legislation. Both are at the whim of legislators and political hacks. This issue is a right of the people in a democracy, and it goes to the very heart of the legitimacy of our government. Yet, over the last two elections, things are not being healed, as Dobbs pointed out. The basic tenets of democracy are at stake.
